Privacy policy
Effective September 26, 2026
hourarc is a time-tracking service operated by NetTempo, Inc. ("NetTempo", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information hourarc collects, how it's used and shared, and the choices you have. It covers the hourarc app at hourarc.app and this website, hourarc.com.
Who is responsible for your information
hourarc is used by organizations to track their people's time. When your organization adds you to hourarc, the time and work information you record there belongs to that organization, and it decides who can see it and how it's used. We run hourarc on the organization's behalf. If you have a question about how your organization uses your information, please ask your organization's hourarc administrator first.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, an optional display name, your email address, and your role in each organization you belong to (for example, member or administrator, and who approves your time).
- Sign-in information: if you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and a Google account identifier with us. We ask Google only for this basic profile information. If you sign in with a password, your password is handled by our sign-in provider, Amazon Cognito, and is never visible to us.
- Work information: the time you record and any notes you add, the clients, projects and tasks you record it against, and related records your organization keeps in hourarc, such as approvals, billing and cost rates, reports and exports.
- Feedback: if you send feedback from inside the app, we receive your message together with your email address, the page you were on, and your browser type.
- Technical information: like most online services, our hosting provider keeps operational logs of requests to hourarc, which can include information such as IP addresses and the time of a request. We use these to run, secure and troubleshoot the service.
How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- sign you in and show you the organizations you belong to;
- provide hourarc's features to you and your organization, such as timesheets, approvals, reports and exports;
- send you service emails, such as an invitation to an account or a password reset;
- respond to your feedback and support requests, and improve hourarc; and
- keep hourarc secure and working, and meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising. Information we receive from Google is used only to sign you in, and its use complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How information is shared
- Within your organization: people in your organization can see your information to the extent their role allows, for example an approver reviewing your time or an administrator running a report.
- Service providers: we use a small number of providers to run hourarc. Amazon Web Services hosts the app, stores its data in the United States, and sends its emails. Google provides "Sign in with Google". GitHub stores the feedback you send, in a private project that only NetTempo can access. They process information only to provide their services to us.
- When required by law: we may disclose information if required to by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others.
Each organization's information is kept separate from every other organization's. An organization can see only its own information.
Cookies and browser storage
This website, hourarc.com, doesn't use cookies or analytics. The hourarc app keeps your sign-in session in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, and remembers a few preferences in local storage, such as which organization you last worked in and how you like your timesheet laid out. The sign-in pages use cookies that are needed to sign you in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored encrypted at rest. Access to each organization's information is restricted to that organization. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as your organization uses hourarc, or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Your organization can deactivate your account. To ask for your information to be deleted, contact your organization's administrator or us. Deleted information may remain in encrypted backups for up to 14 days.
Your choices
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information. Because your organization controls its hourarc data, we'll usually work with your organization's administrator to handle a request. You can also contact us directly.
Children
hourarc is a workplace tool and isn't intended for children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll let organizations using hourarc know.
